Session Description:
Creating coaching skills at every level of an organization will help our teams’ progress in building a coaching culture. But what happens if leaders don’t quite get it? Should HR professionals proceed with coaching skills training when management can’t (or won’t) be truly supportive and engaged with the initiative? This presentation will explore techniques in building coaching skills wherever you can find traction. Through case studies and research, we experientially learn the five key aspects of creating a coaching culture at any organizational level:
1. Find an Effective Coaching Model
2. Focus on the Coach-Coachee relationship
3. Facilitate Peer Coaching
4. Use a Coaching Contract
5. Create Informal Coaching Support Activities
We also review:
* How to deal with resistant managers/leaders so that they do not kill momentum and morale.
* How to create positive coaching experiences and market them appropriately (without telling anybody!)
* Effective feedback techniques to promote learning and results
* Problem-solving coaching to promote accountability and results

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit organization established in 1965 under the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act of 1964. We work with community, state and federal partners to assist children, families, low-income and elderly residents with their efforts to become or remain financially and socially independent through a variety of coordinated programs.
