Emerging Trends and Technologies for HR Professionals

Emerging Trends and Technologies for HR Professionals From email to texts, Facebook to Flickr, and handhelds to hard drives, HR professionals need to understand the multitude of different technologies and electronic devices that employees are using at work. Whether handling a workplace investigations, implementing a personnel action, or addressing a legal claim, businesses are required to collect, review and preserve all kinds of electronic data created, accessed or stored on company devices. Do you know what data your employees are creating, how long it will remain available, or where to find and recover it? This presentation will cover what HR professionals need to know about the wide variety of different technologies and electronic devices employees are using in the workplace. You will receive a basic understanding of Network Security and the functionality that intersects with Human Resources interests, including the ability to monitor and change an employee's internet behavior with the overall goal being to increase employee productivity while documenting any violations of policy. We explore some customizable cloud-based software which will help an HR professional manage functions like registration for training modules, special company events and employee benefits, greatly reducing the "telephone chase" generally involved in managing these activities. We share the importance of archiving email to minimize the costs of a legal document search and/or to obtain documentation which supports an action with an employee. Finally, we touch on the emerging use of recruitment software based on a set of algorithms, which screen and narrow a pool of applicants for a specific position that a HR Department is seeking to fill for a company.
