The 2011/2012 Diversity Award is sponsored by National Employment Service Corporation

SHRA is SHRM Chapter 451
Our chapter was formed in 1986 as a means of enhancing the professional growth of its members by advancing the skills and competencies in the field of Human Resources, through seminars, workshops and personal contacts. We were granted a charter from the American Society of Personnel in October 1986. That name changed to the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 1991.

This Month’s Community Spotlight
|
Our Community Spotlight Nancy Brooks from the Gunstock Adaptive Program
The Gunstock Adaptive Sports Center is a special part of the Gunstock Mountain Resort. People with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges team up with trained volunteer instructors and learn to fly! In the words of Lauren Brennan, a 12-year old blind skier, "It's kind of scary at first, but if you like freedom, you'll love skiing. It feels like you are flying like a bird."
Participants in the Adaptive Sports Program bring many different impairments and challenges when they come to the mountain. They discover a new lifetime winter sport that can be shared with family and friends. Students are thrilled to experience the freedom of sliding down a snowy slope unencumbered by their everyday mobility issues.

Thank you for your participation in the ROP survey click here for the resulting study. This study will look at the reasons why the recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) has become a viable option for many organizations. It will also identify the commonalities among top-performing organizations using RPO to create a road-map to achieving best results.
Aberdeen’s HCM practice, in partnership with SHRA, is conducting an ambitious research study to determine not only how Best-in-Class organizations define and align their HCM strategy with that of the business, but also how individual HR and business leaders can become more effective at executing on their people objectives. We need your feedback to determine the HR Executive's Agenda for 2011.
A copy of the report will be available on the SHRA website immediately after it publishes in early January. Included will be an aggregate look at the quantitative results that top-performing organizations are achieving, allowing you to benchmark your organization’s performance. Of course, individual responses will be kept strictly confidential, and data will only be used in aggregate.
We look forward to hearing from you, and sincerely appreciate your time and participation.
