This Month’s Community Spotlight SHRA's Human Resource Certification Institute Committee The HRCI committee assists SHRA members who are interested in becoming certified Human Resources professionals ~ Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  In addition to certification activities, the HRCI committee acts as a conduit for seminar information and liaison with SHRM to further the development of our members. Our chapter was formed in 1986 as a means of enhancing the professional growth of its members by advancing the skills and competencies in the field of Human Resources, through seminars, workshops and personal contacts. We were granted a charter from the American Society of Personnel in October 1986. That name changed to the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 1991.
